I have been keeping hotel key cards from many stays while travelling between Mexico and Canada over the past few years as well as in Canada visiting family and friends. Ubiquitous reminders of rooms without significance, a temporary connection to a place that exist between places, between private and public spaces. How many of these cards become reused or are so many thrown away indicating another hidden consequence of the travel industry?
