These assemblages are constructed from discarded IKEA packaging-materials designed to be temporary, functional, and ultimately invisible. They are arranged to resemble structures, layouts, and architectural elevation schematics. Created while living in Oman in 2021 we furnished our company accommodations predominantly with items from Ikea. I became interested in the design and functionality of the packaging wedged between the flat-packed pieces each created for optimal size, shape and weight for shipping. Inevitalably, after assembling the furniture, there were always bits and pieces of hardware and allan keys left over. These items became readily available materials to explore notions of home during the de-stabilizing years of the pandemic.
